Students in Mrs. Curylo and Ms. Colella's classes spent Halloween afternoon at work stations in small groups. Each station was Halloween themed and featured learning targets that the students have been working on in class. At the writing work station, students wrote a narrative story in response to a prompt that challenged them to think of what would happen if their pumpkin started to talk to them. They then created a physical representation of their main character, the pumpkin, at the creation station! They graphed "Skittles" at the math station and then answered questions about the data that they graphed. In the computer station, students blasted ghosts who had the correct sum to their addition sentences. Students chose between fiction and non-fiction Halloween and fall themed texts at the reading station and answered questions about the text they read.
