On Thursday, October 9, Western School was visited by firefighters from the Naugatuck Fire Department. They taught the students fire safety information by grade level groups. A few highlights from these great assemblies were kindergartners interacting with the fire truck, and third grade students seeing a fireman in his gear and learning not to hide from him or the fire alarm if in a fire. Children also learned that they could stop, drop, and roll if they were in an emergency situation where they were on fire. A big thank you to the Naugatuck Fire Department for spending time with our students!
